Uhm. I tried it. This is Slice of Life. I thought it should be easy. But I still seem to be too stupid for Xia Da’s Chinese.
Anyway, I came to page 9 and then my patience with my lack of skills lost it. Perhaps it might be of some interest to some regadless.

Part 1 of probably 3

No matter how much I look I it, it feels like it could be one of Benjamin‘s works. From the drawings, the general narrative style to the topic itself. I only read “Remember” as of yet, this one is a bit more light hearted and straight forward than the shorts stories in there, but the similiarity is still obvious.

I even supected this  S光年 user to be just simply him, but it’s not like I can find much of a hint to support that idea on the user’s profile by a quick look.

Chang Ge Xing a.k.a. Chouka Kou ~ Volume 1 chapter 1 Japanese sample

長歌行 1 (ヤングジャンプコミックス・ウルトラ)

So, this series has been running in Japan for a while now as well and volume 1 got released there at the end of january.
Oddly enough, it seems to have quite a handsome amount of “¥ 1より” offers on amazon.co.jp. Not too popular over there? (Through Clamp’s Gate 7 volume 1 is listed from 1 Yen as well, which I assume should be rather known and popular….?)
There is even the complete first chapter on s-manga.net online as a reading sample.

Now looking at that Japanese first chapter, and compare that with the chinese version published online, see something?
The prologue before the chapter title page is pretty much devoid of text in the Chinese online version, but there is already quite a portion of narration in the Japanese one.
The first chapter is also not simply called “part 1”, but actually has a title: “誓いの姫” (Oath’s Princess).
No idea, if that are changes in the Chinese hard print volumes as well, through. (Without a credit card I just have no ways to get my hands on it right now. T___T)
Also interesting to note that the Japanese version seems to contain some in-line explanations/translation notes.

(And I seem to have thought too deep into the “道” Hanzi in the teaser, I was guessing this would be some philosophical debate amids a fight, but seeing this scene used its real context in the Japanese version, it also seems to be a mere simple literal “way”, or rather “principle”.)

Will most probably get this Japanese version somewhen. When I will actually start reading through this seriously will stay open through, I still have over 1m³ of stuff to read…

Well, this is not really a scanlation, since there is nothing to be scanlated in the first place (i.e. no text in there).

You can take a look at it directly on the U17.com site here.
Click on the

The latest work of Xia Da, probably most known for her “Zhi Bu Yu” alias “Dare mo Shiranai” series.
It began serializing in the February Issue of “Manyou” this year, and subquequently via online release on u17.com at the end of April.

u17.com is a manhua online reading site, calling itself 原创漫画梦工厂, meaning about as much as “Original Manhua Dream Works”.
Among a lot of amateur works, there are quite a handful of professionals there and even among the amateurs there are enough skillfull ones releasing their works on the site. Most of them are original works, but I have also spotted some doujinjis there as well.
Page by Page online reading on u17.com is free, to enable chapter batch-download one has to pay a fee.

The teaser chapter contains various seemingly random pages of the series, along with the announcement of its online-release. It gives a good impression on the mood and drawing skills of Xia Da.
Xia Da uses quite flowerish and literary Chinese. I doubt my translations do her justice, but this work does certainly look interesting to me.

A little imaginary fairytale(?)-esque oneshot. The insides are are three colored, which kind of reminded me of several short stories of Nakamura Asumiko, “I am piano” for instance. Or Mihara Mitsukazu’s “The Canary”.
